KOOL SCHOOL PLAGIARISM POLICY
The definition of plagiarism:
Plagiarize: to steal and pass off (the idea or words of another) as one’s own: use (another’s production) without crediting the source
Plagiarism: to commit literary theft: present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
If students plagiarize the consequences are as follows:
This will be resolved between the student and the teacher and it will be an opportunity to educate and inform students.
Students will be referred to administration and suspended from their course. They will be required to do a read and respond to a plagiarism assignment. The student will only be allowed back into his/her course once they have completed this assignment to the satisfaction of administration. Parents will be notified and informed that if there are any subsequent instances of plagiarism the student will be suspended from their courses and referred to the Superintendent’s Office.
Referral to Superintendent’s Office and suspension from courses.
